This is the worst way to do marketing (but it’s very common!)

Spraying your advertising everywhere isn't a guaranteed way to win... it's a guaranteed way to burn money. It's also a common way to approach marketing. At the same time, their marketing spend increased 13 X. So, they were growing but losing more money than ever. This is one of the worst ways to market, because you're hitting too many irrelevant people. Instead, spend the time to figure out who your target audience is and where you can reach them.
